SOCIAL PEACE, ECONOMIC JUISTICE & PEOPLE'S EMPOWERMENT (SEE)
The Social Peace, Economic Justice & People’s Empowerment (SEE) Program Unit is working with the poor communities & their supportive grassroots NGOs/CBOs to build their capacity for promoting social peace and economic justice by reducing social conflict regarding use of natural resources within and across generations.CDP is one of the pioneer NGO in terms of working with the indigenous “Munda” people to promote their identity and raise their unheard voices to the Policy makers as well as in the national development agendas' since inception in 1997.
CDP carried out the following projects under this program unit.
1. An Initiative to strengthen peoples Movement to Ensure Economic Justice
This project was supported by the Action AID Bangladesh and implemented from 2004-2008.
The project was implemented during 2005 to 2006 by the support of DANIDA, Bangladesh.
3. Developing Alternative Livelihoods for Shrimp Fry Collectors
The project was implemented by the support of DFID in 2000.
The project is funded by Winrock International to build up the capacity of the non-formal schools, run by NGOs to increase the enrollment of the working children.
6. Special Program for Food Security (SPFS)
The project was implemented during 2003- 2007 by the support of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) through the Directorate of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Government of Bangladesh under Japanese Grant (GCSP/BGD/033/Japan).
Coastal Development Partnership has been conducting monitoring of election processes during the national and local elections to ensure free and fair exercise of franchise by the people
8. Capacity Building of Grassroots Partners (CBGP)
The purpose of this project is to build up the capacity and ensure effective information management of grassroots NGOs, CBOs, LEBs and other Civil Society activists on legal movement against Human Rights abuses, creation of social protective measures, etc. ManusherJonno funded the project.
9. Capacity Building of Grassroots NGOs for Social Development Activism
This project is meant to enable Civil Society Organizations (NGOs or others) to conduct advocacy on Governance and Human Rights issues. StichtingOveral of Nijmegen, The Netherlands, funds the project.
10. Participatory Action research with the Munda Community
Participatory Action research with the Munda Community of Satkhira District to establish their rights for empowerment funded by RIB (Research Initiative Bangladesh), 2005
12. Ensuring Democratic Rights of the Munda Community of Southwest region of Bangladesh
Ensuring Democratic Rights of the Munda Community of Southwest region of Bangladesh through proper enrollment in ongoing voter list funded by The Asia Foundation, 2008
13. Translation of the new Tactics Materials in Bangla
Translation of the new Tactics Materials in Bangla and distribution among the relevant stakeholders to ensure human rights in the south region of Bangladesh, Center for Victims-USA, 2006
14. Prevention of Child & Women Trafficking
CDP by its own funds and initiatives has been working for ensuring the child rights and women’s rights, specially for prevention of child and women trafficking, through conducting awareness creation programs, collecting, preserving and disseminating information.
