350.org campaigning in Bangladesh



Coastal Development Partnership (CDP) is a national research and advocacy organization in Bangladesh and one of the lead facilitator of the 350.org campaign in Bangladesh. CDP along with likeminded partner organizations who have been promoting the 350.org campaign in Bangladesh observed the day of climate action in the well-known Shahid Hadis Park of Khulna City by Liberating Cased Birds in the Open Sky at 11.00 am on October 24, 2009 at the presence of renowned personalities of Khulna.

The Honorable Mayor of Khulna City Corporation Mr Talukder Abdul Khaleque expressed strong solidarity with the 350.org campaign of CDP and inaugurated the campaign by freeing a pigeon in the sky. He thanked Coastal Development Partnership (CDP) and its all staffs and all partners who are associated with this campaign. He called upon everybody to express solidarity and to continue working with the campaign. Then a rally led by the Mayor Mr Talukder Abdul Khaleque marched the main streets of Khulna city.
