Projects under CDP

  1. Conservation of Coastal Wetland in Southwest Region of Bangladesh: The project has been implemented by the support of NC-IUCN Netherlands in two phases during March 2005 to September 2006 and the budget of the project was total 3195692.00 BDT.   2. Awareness Creation among the shrimp Farmers on socially responsive and environment friendly shrimp culture in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh: The project was implemented by the support of World Fish Center in 2006. The budget of the project was total 782144.00 BDT.   4. Conservation of Aquatic Biodiversity in the tidal wetlands of the South West Coastal Region of Bangladesh: The project has been successfully implemented by CDP in 2002 by the support of Rufford Small Grant (RSG). The budget of the project was total 474427.00 BDT.   8. Special Program for Food Security (SPFS): The project duration was August 2003-July 2007. The budget of the project was total 792000.00 BDT.   9. Rice Diversity Sub Project (RDSP): The project duration was 2001-2003.   10. Developing Alternative Livelihoods for Shrimp Fry Collectors: The project was implemented by the support of DFID in 2000.   11. The Sundarban Bio-diversity Conservation Project Watch Group (SBCP-Watch Group): The Sundarban Bio-diversity Conservation Project (SBCP) of Asian Development Bank (ADB) was incepted in April, 2000. Before that, CDP had participated in a baseline survey of the “Impact Zone” of the Sundarban under the umbrella of ADAB on the request of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) during 1997-98. But the Project design had completely ignored the opinions/recommendations of the people and NGOs.  As a result, CDP with the financial support from Action Aid Bangladesh had formed the SBCP Watch Group to critically review and monitor the implementation of the SBCP project of ADB. As a consequence of the criticism of the people and media campaign by SBCP-Watch Group, ADB suspended the project in September 2003. The project was later cancelled in January 2005. The budget of the project was total 1283000.00 BDT.   12. Study on Feasibility of Cultivating Meley in wetlands: The study was conducted during September 1998- February 1999 and supported by The Grameen Trust.   13. CDP- Action Aid Joint Research Initiative on Livelihood in the Sundarban; The Bangladesh Scenario: The project was conducted during October-December 2004 and supported by Action Aid Bangladesh.
