Research, Training & Knowledge Management (RTK) Division
- Research & Training: Research is the more scientific and structured process of asking and answering questions in order to confirm or disprove something. Research is a long-term social investment for sustainable development. Research-based knowledge plays an important role for the development of new technology, products, and services. Knowledge-based innovation is crucial to quality and competitiveness in the public sectors. Moreover, emerging global environmental challenges are posing new demands of research efforts:
- To conduct studies for identification of environmental, social, economic, Governance and Human Rights issues.
- Identification of local resources and sustainable ways to utilize them for the benefit of the people
- To undertake concerted efforts with the NGOs, Foundations, Research Organizations, Scientific Institutions working in line with or, contributing towards the issues, in part or of whole range, through action and research, with a view to engaging, activating and persuading the actors to act upon.
- To undertake issue-based research in order to deepen the discourses around climate resilient development and identify precisely the areas of intervention at institutional, social and policy level
- Documentation: Documentation is the process of finding practical ways to record, learn from, re-package, and share experiences, results, and lessons. Documentation is central to good monitoring and evaluation. Documentation activities enable CDP to see what is or are not working and so replicate successes and avoid mistakes. It also contributes to informed decisions about programme planning and resource allocation. CDP has its own quarterly News Letter.
- Knowledge Management: The Knowledge Management activities of CDP aims to document practical experiences, identify lessons learned, and advocate effective strategies and policies:
- Development of Resource Center and Satellite Information Centers to ensure easy access of the development workers, researchers, students and journalists to Books, Journals, Research Reports and other Resource Materials
- Arrange issue-based compilations of news clippings from daily newspapers.
- Dissemination of Information by publishing books, booklets, bulletins, newsletters, fact sheets, brochures, policy briefings, media reports, leaflets, posters and stickers, etc on emerging issues.
- Adoption of Information Communication Technology (ICT)
- Updating Web site,
- Development of Digital Library
